Wish I'd said that!
At the same time, it is worthwhile to note that there have been some instances in which the ACLU has endorsed public displays of religion. For example, When New York City Mayor Rudi Giuliani threatened to cut taxpayer funding from the Brooklyn Museum of Art for displaying a painting of the Virgin Mary with cow dung and pictures of female sexual organs pasted all over her body, the ACLU was first in line to defend the display. U.S. District Court Judge Nina Gershon ruled that New York City's elected officials were not allowed to place conditions on the museum's funding.
In another instance, the ACLU offered its support to the taxpayer-funded National Endowment for the Arts, after the agency sponsored an art show featuring "Piss Christ" - an exhibit consisting of a crucifix submerged in a jar of urine.
In the ACLU's myopic world, it appears that the only permissible publicly-funded displays of religion are those which blatantly mock or disparage the Christian faith.

What Change Were You Talking About?
It's been one year since Barack Hussein Obama has occupied the White House. While the Left and the lamestream media has generally been making excuses for his failures and misdirecting us away from his actual "accomplishments", we must ask ourselves the classic question: are we any better off now than we were before Obama assumed office? And where will we be if BOH and company are successful in burying us (no pun intended) in their agenda.
For example: take healthcare. If you still believe the Left's hype about the healthcare bill (H.R. 3200) they so desperately want to pass, you might want to watch this very straightforward look at what's inside the bill. If this is truly about improving healthcare for all Americans, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you, cheap.
Democrat dilemma. I typically don't speak very highly of Democrats (and they reciprocate, vociferously), but I actually believe in the concept of a "loyal opposition," as long as our ultimate goals are somewhat similar, such as protecting American, lives, rights, property, freedom and sovereignty. If conservatives were fully in charge, they would eventually go off the deep end, because our fallen human nature, left to its own devices and foibles, would drift toward the dark side; e.g., more control of people's lives, less freedom, more restrictions, more taxes, fewer rights (as opposed to government-granted -- and revocable -- privileges) just as the Democrats have done. America does its best as an intricate balancing act.
But the bigger problem is that the Democrat party is no longer a balance for American government and society; it has been infiltrated and co-opted by the Progressives, who are the ultimate elitists, globalists, and monsters. Most Democrats - at least the JFK types who would never be accepted in the upper echelons of today's Democrat party - love America and have generally traditional values.
The Progressives, on the other hand, follow Marxism and the Fabian Socialists, believe they alone have all the answers, and are determined to forge a one-world globalist State with themselves at the helm and everyone else under their boots. There are a number of very informative books available that document this sneaky and not-always-subtle takeover, but Glenn Beck has been virtually the lone media voice, crying (literally) in the wilderness to present the actual evidence in their own words and actions. I recommend you watch Beck's first documentary The Revolutionary Holocaust on Friday, January 22, at 5 pm on the Fox News Channel. He exposes the "heroes" of marxism/socialism/progressivism - the same ones so many young people naively idolize - for the monsters they were. Beck may be enroute to becoming one of the most important teachers of our era.
I'd like to see the real Democrats take their party back from these anti-American threats to your freedoms, the fruits of your labors, and the future of your children.
A Deal with the Devil? Immediately following the tragedy in Haiti, 700 Club founder and Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, made an off-the-cuff, on-air remark about the earthquake being the result of "a pact made with the devil" by Haitians to overthrow French rule. Frankly, while I'm not a huge fan of Robertson's brand of theology, the constant harping on his remark is even more obnoxious. As you might expect, the Left is treating it as a free gift, but I'm disturbed by the fact that the otherwise-refreshing Fox News and other presumed conservative venues are also piling on. Perhaps it's just because of a slow news cycle.
While it may not have been the wisest thing to say, everyone seems to be omitting the context of the remark. Yes, Robertson did say that the Haitians "a long time ago...got together and swore a pact to the Devil; 'if you'll get us free from the French.' True story." Obviously, unless he has a certified copy of the pact, his assertion that it is a "true story" was presumtuous. On the other hand (I guess I'm playing the devil's advocate here), unless someone else can prove that a group of Haitians didn't make a pact with the Devil at some point, Robertson's critics are operating with more than a little arrogance and presumption themselves. Even atheists must be aware that there are Satanists operating even now, who believe they are making deals with the Devil, whether he actually exists or not (and I believe he does). And any Christian should accept that there is a spiritual realm and a devil; soooo, don'tcha think it's time to move on from this particular soiree into "journalism"?
Incidentally, you really haven't heard the lamestream media pound actor Danny Glover's rant suggesting that the earthquake was the fault of "manmade global warming." Why not? (Uh...rhetorical question)

Who's Sick?
Glenn, again? Last time I brought Glenn Beck to your attention, because of the incredible work he's done to expose the not so hidden progressive agenda to light. This week he showed even more incredible video of Obama's "green czar", Van Jones; this time during a speech last spring, in which the racial aspect of his self-professed communist thinking was revealed. And the hits just keep coming from Jones; we also learned of his commitment to total revolution in America.
On Friday, Glenn also premiered his 5-point action plan for Americans to take our government back. No armed revolution, but a peaceful counter-revolution, is what we must aim for, while there is still time.
Starvation diet ahead? If you're paying attention, you've probably noticed how the government is chipping away at all the areas which made us the greatest nation in history, including preventing our energy independence (despite all the empty 'green power' rhetoric) and eliminating our food reserves even though we've helped feed the planet for generations.
How dark can the future get? Pretty grim, if a scary new bill wending its way through the Massachusetts legislature is any measure. The "Pandemic Response Bill" 2028 has already passed the Mass state Senate and is pending House approval. Just a few of the Draconian measures it contains includes:
- to require the owner or occupier of premises to permit entry into and investigation of the premises;
- to close, direct, and compel the evacuation of, or to decontaminate or cause to be decontaminated any building or facility, and to allow the reopening of the building or facility when the danger has ended;
- to decontaminate or cause to be decontaminated, or to destroy any material;
- to restrict or prohibit assemblages of persons;
- to require a health care facility to provide services or the use of its facility, or to transfer the management and supervision of the health care facility to the department or to a local public health authority;
- to control ingress to and egress from any stricken or threatened public area, and the movement of persons and materials within the area...
In case you didn't notice, even those few listed above would violate most of the Bill of Rights and would present the perfect opportunity to establish a "Warsaw Ghetto"-type of prison on the pretext of fighing an infection.
Yes, our nation is sick and in dire need of help, and heroes. I thank God that He's provided a few brave souls to step up to the plate, and more are joining the battle for America's 'soul' daily. I've noted the tremendous effort of Glenn Beck, but there are other noteworthy freedom fighters. For example, Michigan's maverick congressman, Mike Rogers, recently gave a compelling floor speech on the Obamacare illusion that shows there actually is a handful of honorable persons in that body of liars and self-aggrandizing hypocrites. And Sherman Frederick, publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, wrote a scathing counter attack against Harry Reid's bullying tactics.
Free for all. Speaking of sickness, a provision that would provide free healthcare for illegals has been exposed by the Congressional Research Service. Amid all the claims by liberal congresspeople of the totally benign nature of H.R. 3200 (aka Obamacare), more and more items are being discovered that would throw this country into even greater internal turmoil, robbing present and future generations of the fruits of their labor and their freedom to choose for their own welfare, and actually increase their mortality by denying quality care.
Progressivism is at the heart of what endangers our freedom and our lives. It is nothing more than another incarnation of an idea that goes by various names; socialism, communism, fascism, Nazism (which was the German shorthand for National Socialism). Progressivism is oppressive (it attacks the freedom of others), suppressive (it wants to control every aspect of life), repressive (it wants to limit the people's opportunities and their ability to speak out in opposition), and depressive (it robs people of ambition because it prevents excellence and advancement). Progressivism, as an idea and especially as a governing principle, is the enemy.

Something Wicked This Way Comes
Related to this is a new dictum from the government to censor schoolbooks by banning certain words and phrases. One aspect of this growing trend is to remove any references to gender - especially the masculine - as well as those words deemed by government wonks as "politically insensitive." It goes so far as to actually ban the phrase 'Founding Fathers'. And you wonder why America is growing increasingly stupid? Hey, why should kids have any awareness of differences in gender - other than sex ed classes, that is?
Public (i.e., taxpayer-funded) schools have not been geared for real, well-rounded education for a long time; they are now little more than indoctrination centers. I saw circumstantial evidence of this personally when walking through the headquarters of the NYS Teachers Union. In one of the main hallways that ring the building, there was a bust of Vladimir Lenin prominently displayed on a bookstand.
By now I assume you've read the entire ObamaCare bill, H.R. 3200. No? Don't worry, neither have the buffoons who are supposed to vote on it. In fact, Rep. John Conyers thinks it's foolish to even consider reading it without having a couple of lawyers along. But wait; aren't most congresspeople lawyers? Yet the assumption is that they shouldn't be required to read the laws they are trying to pass. Have they not heard about the Devil being in the details?
Speaking of which... I have long held the belief that the primary reason America is going to Hell in a handbasket is because the 'enemy' first conquered the school system (beginning with the teaching colleges) and then the media. For generations, students have been taught less and less about our foundational values and the Christian faith that gave us those values and a common bond. One of the things not being taught in (public) schools are the essential differences in governments. A recent YouTube video does a decent job of showing the differences between a Republic vs Demcracy.
Don't go there! Have you considered the government's latest scam - the "clunkers" program that entices you to scrap your working car for a 'deal' that helps you go into hock for an even more expensive 'green' car? Here's a heads-up for you: if you go to the Cars.gov website and log on, when you get to the 'Privacy Act & Security Statement', DO NOT HIT 'ACCEPT'.' You get a warning message that says accepting it legally allows the site to make that computer government property and allows the government to tap into your computer and potentially track every activity you use the computer for, including communications. This is Big Brother at its most sinister so far.
Update: On Monday, the Glenn Beck Program on Fox News Channel - which broke the above story on Friday (and got hammered by liberal blogs over the weekend) - got a message from the White House stating that the warning statement "has been removed" from the cars.gov site. Isn't is refreshing when the government actually admits it did something wrong (and coincidentally sticking a finger in the eyes of the lib bloggers)? Of course, that doesn't help all the people (mostly dealerships) who signed on; and it did only say it was removing the statement. And, of course, you hear nothing about the backpedal from mainstream media and the lib blogs.
The Mage of Motor City speaks! Legendary free man and rocker Ted Nugent recently gave his Master's thesis on gun control during a TV interview. Quick and to the point.
Hell to pay. Some disturbing things have been coming to my attention recently regarding Obama. The problem is that this information is not the sort that most folks will even consider, because it concerns a spiritual dimension. However, believing something is impossible does not automatically make it impossible. Perhaps the strangest answer is the true answer. You decide.
I long ago got away from 'rapture-watching' and diabolical conspiracies, but I've also been striving to connect the dots between an avalanche of events that have suprising links and a common bond with the president, some of which introduce a 'creepiness' factor. These last range from the disconcernting, "coincidental" Illinois lottery results of the 'Pick 3" on Nov. 5th - the day after the election (which I verified by going to the lottery website), to the reversed recording of Obama's acceptance speech. Yeah, I know; that's crazy talk. If you don't want to believe this stuff, fine. I'm not even sure I do. But as a Christian I believe in a spiritual dimension and that God speaks to us in many different ways, and we too often don't pay attention to the "still, small voice" until it's too late. And just because we prefer not to believe something, doesn't necessarily make it untrue.
